I used to wonder can stress raise blood sugar levels? After 35+ years of experiencing type 1 diabetes, I know it can!!

When I worked for a company and had a lot of stress, I had to use more insulin. Once I left that organization, the stress was lowered and my sugar levels dropped!

This morning, I had a lot of stress at the lab for blood work. I had fasted and my blood sugar reading was 132!!! I know that was stress because I woke up with it at 103 and hadn’t eaten anything this morning!

This is another reason I promote exercise for diabetics. It eliminates stress and high sugar levels! If you are wondering if stress can raise blood sugar levels, no need to wonder anymore. My diabetes experiences spell out the answer,

Yes, stress can raise blood sugar levels!!”
